Student Panel: Transfer Students in the Brockport Classroom

Things they appreciated: help with Degree Works and knowing what their schedules would look like.

One found the lack of diversity challenging here. 
Less flexibility then freshmen, they need to get right into their majors classes.

Ideas to reach them:

• All agreed email was best. (Social media doesn't work.)
• Have a faculty panel for students so they could ask questions.
• Throw an event for transfer students (they are not first-year students, although many assume they would go to those events.)
• If we have any ideas that we would like sent to all of them, send to Erin Rickman and she can make an announcement in Blackboard and/or send an email too.   Use this for activities too.
• Have a table at the union, always get people that way. 
• They are interested in departmental clubs, study abroad.
• Want to know how to get tutors, especially if in online classes.  We could use this to share how to get librarian help. 

Let them know they are not alone.  Show you care.
