Brief Takeaway thoughts from ACRL 2019, Cleveland, OH

ACRL 2019, Cleveland, OH

  1. Less reference, more outreach
More working with faculty on assignments, workshops, their research
  2. Collaboration everywhere
  3. Value Services over collections (primarily the print book collection)
    Scholarly communications
    Data Collection and Management
    Outreach
    Instruction
  4. Tension between service and instruction/teaching/outreach is being felt at many institutions.  We need to be more proactive and less reactive.
  5. Library as a central information place-- Including how to find other services on campus and connect researchers to the tools/folks who know how to use them.
  6. Feedback from all constituents is helpful and necessary.
